Handmade Gifts For Boys: Personalized Pajamas

Winter Pajamas

When Amy of Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop and The Fabric Fairy offered to sponsor the Handmade Gifts For Boys series, I knew right away what I wanted to sew up.  If you've been following along here for a while you probably already know how much I love the Winter Pajama Pattern.  I've sewn at least a dozen sets over the last year. You can see a few of the other sets here, here, and here.

I asked for some Heather Grey knit from the Fabric Fairy to serve as the base and then stamped away using fabric paint and an acrylic stamp.  Maybe it's the teacher in me, but we love letters in this house and practice them every chance we get.

Personalized Pajamas

When the baby blue paint was a bit hard to read, I grabbed a fabric marker and gave each K a quick outline.  I like how it makes the blue K stand out and give it just a bit of a comic type look.

Outlining the blue K also draws the eye to the blue cuffs which I think contrast nicely with the grey knit.  Since the littlest guy has started recognizing "his" letter every where he goes, I'm thinking he's going to get a kick out of wearing it to bed.

  1. I would make matching PJ's for my three kids - or at the very least some new PJ's for my ever growing boy Bex... as the biggest of my three I feel like he is the one with the fewest clothes ;op

  2. My big guy is out growing all his pj's and the winter pattern would be perfect because that's the style he likes to wear!

  9. Saw flashes of these on Instagram and Pinterest. So glad I checked out the post--perfect, fun PJs! I haven't sewing any jammies for my kids yet. I think the jammy drawer is the only one without handmade in it. :)

  10. My son only has one pair of long PJ's as he grows so fast! So more jammies for him are a must.
