We recently finished up our overseas tour in Scandinavia and let me tell you, I just love their fashion sense. Between the often gender neutral yet highly colorful children's clothing, to the way they weave design elements into the garments, the clothing is so fun and inspiring. And the fun fabrics? Yes, please!
Affordability on the other hand is another issue entirely. And now that we're back in the States, you can forget about paying the shipping costs for my favorite kids shops. But luckily, I sew.
I can guaruntee that you are already familiar and LOVE many Scandinavian clothing designers. All you have to do it take a look at children's clothing on Pinterest and you'll find a slew. They may not be as recognized as The Gap or Children's Place but Molo, Mini Rodini, Shampdoodle, Noa Noa, Wheat, Bang Bang Copenhagen, and Maxomorra are all over the place. Scandinavian fashion is funky, cool and minamlistic but above all (especially for kids) comfortable.
Next month you will see at least 16 different interpretations of Scandinavian fashion from this fabulous list of talented bloggers:
The Sewing RabbitElegance and Elephants
Sew A Straight Line
Sewing Like Mad
Emmy Lou Bee Doo
Simple Simon and Company
Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy Crafts
