During the Sew In Tune series this summer, I had the privilege to test several of the patterns from Blank Slate Basics. Today I'm sharing my version of Melly's, "Prepster Pullover".
Each of the patterns I tested are very basic which means you can spend more time thinking about the style and embellishments than figuring out how to put the garment together. The Prepster Pullover pattern allows for variety in sleeve length, pocket or no pocket, tabs or no tabs, button placket or leave it plain.
I went with the long sleeve version with button tabs and left the placket open. The fabric is denim dyed Essex linen which gives this pullover a nice breezy feel. Pulled over a cotton t-shirt it's perfect for the Fall weather that has quickly come upon us.
Melissa's directions make even the more advanced portions of this pattern (plackets and yoke), easy. Her step by step directions for sewing the placket and aligning the yoke are clear and simple leaving no doubt about how to execute the steps.
I have a feeling this shirt is going to get a lot of wear over the coming months and the pattern a lot of use period. It's definitely a keeper!
