Books For Boys #6: The Secret Knowledge of Grown-Ups

This week's Books For Boys recommendation is for the older crew.  While we'd recommend it for the 5 and above crew for it's more complex humor, my three year old loves to follow along and laugh over the funny illustration.

The Secret Knowledge of Grown-Ups by David Wisniewski is an absolutely hilarious reveal of the "real" reasons behind those pesky rules that parents always say.

We love how David Wisniewski makes the book look like a top-secret, classified file with each rule being a separate folder, complete with crumbled pages and declarations of "Secret Security Clearance Required".

Each rule is illustrated with bold, paper cut outs and type written explanations for rules such as:

Rule #    :  Don't bite your fingernails.

Real Reason:  Those scraps of fingernail you leave behind, grow back into fingers that grow up to be finger gangs.

Between atomic cows that will explode if you don't drink your milk and

prehistoric vegetables at the top of the food chain, this whimsical book will have you and your child laughing non-stop.
