A Sister Pillow

The Anna Maria Horner pillow from this post was looking a bit forlorn sitting there all pretty on my chocolate colored couches.  I thought she might need a friend.  And what better friend than a sister?

I've wanted one of these pillows for a long time.  I've seen a similar style on several different sites.  It is not technically quilted because I didn't use any batting.  Each leaf is appliqued and then stitched with a simple zig-zag.

I was trying for a Weeping Willow kind of look.  Not sure I acheived that, but I love the Sweetwater for Moda fabric that I picked for the tree trunk and branches.

As is usually the case with sisters, one makes a much bolder statement than the other.

We can't all be brassy, red heads! I personally like the Weeping Willow best which may tell you a bit about me.  I go for a more subtle beauty.

  6. I think I commented to Susan about this and forgot to comment here. Anyway, I. Love. It. LOVE IT!! They look so adorable sitting next to each other. And the weeping willow trunk fabric was genius. Gun to my head though, I'd pick the string quilt pillow. Guess I'm a brassy redhead kinda gal.
